Large prominent sand hills in\u00a0the surrounding\u00a0landscape, these sand dunes are formed by wind erosion and the deposition of materials\u00a0in the area.<\/p>\n<p>Strong NE winds transport the erosion materials from the area&#8217;s tertiary sedimentary rocks, actively contributing to their creation.
