Livadochori is situated in the island’s middle region, precisely where the routes from Myrina and Kontias join and continue to eastern Lemnos. The settlement was named after the wide plain that surrounds it. The village was originally established further west, between the churches of Agios Ioannis and Agios Vassilios, but due to a cholera outbreak the residents relocated to the current site. Kefalochori was its original name.
